Introduction:

Thecus is a company that has a single goal. Provide a place to keep your data safe. Every single product they make is an external device to store your stuff on. Some can only be used on a single system at a time, either through USB 2.0, or eSata, but the vast majority of them are meant for use over your network. Self contained units that don’t rely on the uptime of any other machine to function.

The NAS (Network-attached storage) is one of those things that can come in handy in many different roles, some of which are very important. For a home user, having a system that is always on and available to store movies, music or photos is very useful. It lets you keep everything in a central location for easy access They are also easy to setup for almost anyone. Most NAS systems have built in FTP access, so anything you have that can use FTP, can also get at your files.

For businesses that need to have 100% uptimes, a NAS is an excellent idea. A NAS only has a single area to concentrate on, which reduces the probability of a crash. Along with hardware that is well tested, it reduces problems even more.
