Do we have a treat for you
in this upcoming review! How about an all-aluminum gaming enclosure from
NZXT? The enclosure in the spotlight this time
is the Zero Full Tower Aluminum
Chassis. The all-aluminum and plastic construction keeps the weight to a
minimum, and plenty of external and internal drive space will keep the RAID
junkie happy. The eight included fans should keep CrossFire and SLI gear cool
with four of those fans blowing onto the cards, or perhaps the case will become airborne from the air
flow. The Zero
case is intended for the power user or gamer.

The
NZXT Zero
arrived in the retail box, which is all white, with the front having a full
picture of the Zero
enclosure. The rear of the box has a few more pictures of the case along with
the features and specifications. The
Zero enclosure
is protected with the softer foam during the shipping process.

Tinted window |
While removing the
Zero enclosure
from the packaging, the first thing I noticed was how light this case weighed.
This lack of weight is due to the all-aluminum and plastic construction. The
front bezel is a two piece design, with the upper section being an access door
to the 5.25" bays. The upper area
has a tinted window which will allow users with LCD's devices in the drive bay to
see their gear. The lower portion has the same design but instead of smoked plexi, it's an
intake vent for the 120mm fan.

Front I/O ports |
The bezel door is kept
closed with two magnets and when pulled open, it reveals seven external bays - 5
are 5.25" and the other two are 3.5" bays. Also located behind the door is the
reset switch. On the bottom right side of the bezel is the external connections
for the IEEE, USB and Audio ports.

Top vent |
The left side panel has a
square opening that is screened. Behind the screen are four 120mm fans. The side
panel is held in place with two thumbscrews. Continuing our way around, the rear
panel has two 120mm fan openings, as well as the typical layout for the PSU and
motherboard. Now, it's on to the exterior and the boring right side panel all alone
and being plain. Lastly, the top of the
Zero enclosure
has a a single 80mm exhaust fan. This brings the fan count to eight.
