Kingwin
Kingwin has much improved their product lines and visions these days. Our own Diceman checked out their external Z1 Series External Drive Enclosures which look pretty cool. Their new Elite Series look even better and offer both eSATA and USB 2.0 connectivity. Of course there are other models still out there, but the dual connectivity wins over any day of the week.
They have a new Mach 1 Power Supply series that starts at 600 watts all the way up to 1000 watts. These are pretty slick looking units which have LED lit ports that indicate when there is activity on that line. The modular cabling is similar to military design and seemed to make a great connection. These are especially nice looking and should no doubt attract a lot of attention.
You can see here some of their very colorful CPU Coolers with all their heat pipe glory. I've seen more and more of their coolers popping up at stores like FRY'S. The design methods of their coolers are interesting in that they have a few without a solid copper block. Instead, the heat pipes are visible and make physical contact with the CPU.
Patriot Memory
The Patriot Memory we all know from their start up has slowly disappeared. As of late, they've very aggressive in taking the opportunities to release some excellent memory kits. Their fastest memory kits up to this point are DDR2 1200MHz and DDR3 1866MHz. While DDR2 isn't planned to go any faster, their DDR3 kits will be pushing near 2100MHz. This is some seriously extreme frequencies.
Their entire DDR2 and DDR3 line has taken on a whole new look. New memory sinks have been given to the newly designated "Viper" series which spans both lines. The memory sinks are pretty cool looking and don't just cover all of the same old memory sticks. They've improved their DDR2 PC2-6400 Viper Extreme kit's timings to 3-4-3-8 at 2.3 volts. Hey, if you can improve DDR2 dramatically, why not? It's still an active production module and should do quite well.
Patriot has extended their USB Drives to a 32GB and 64GB XPorter XT. The XTs are water proof and come in a durable, rubber cover. The Razzo line comes in a 16GB and 32GB flavor. We can always use smaller, larger capacity USB Drives around here. It beats hauling around an external eSATA drive.
And since these guys are well versed in memory modules, don't be shocked to see
some Solid State Drive technology. Some companies decided to step in to the
market with a well tuned product as opposed to the original versions that
haven't done so well.
Lexar
To be honest, I wasn't familiar with these guys till I took the time to stop in and see what it is they do. This snip from their website sums it up. Lexar Media is a leading marketer and manufacturer of NAND flash and DRAM memory products under the Lexar and Crucial brand names. Lexar also sells flash memory products under the Kodak brand.
Lexar has just about every possible flash memory product that any regular or professional digital user can appreciate. What caught my eye was their newest Flash Memory Stick which has a built in WiFi feature. It can upload its data directly via this feature without the need of any wiring. This may end up being one of the handiest, most cost effective flash memory products yet.
